Birthday Party Success

Our little Ellie Bean is turning two in a week and we had her birthday party this weekend.
I really tried to keep it super simple. Made a few decorations and invited family and some friends.
Our friend Melissa made Elsa's cupcake cake and it was amazing!

I loved having other little ones to play with Elsa.

She had a blast and was wore out at the end of the day.

50%+

Yes folks, my daughter has FINALLY made it over the 50 percentile for weight. She's almost 2 and actually wearing 2T. I would say she had a little growth spurt recently.

Go Elsa!

First Bite

I got home late last night from a Cultural Affairs Board meeting. As I was unloading all of my things, Steve comes out with Elsa wrapped in a  towel and tells me I need to see her daily report from school and adds "You won't be happy."

Elsa bit a fellow kid at daycare. She apparently gets very upset when you talk to her about. Like to the point of crying when you say "we don't bite." So she definitely knows it was wrong. Her reaction is so strong, that I wonder what the heck was her punishment yesterday? What did they say or do to her to tell her she was wrong? Or is she just that sensitive to scolding? Honestly, she is such a good, loving, and sweet kid that scoldings are rare and she does get upset when you do it.

To add to this she had zyrtec for allergies and got very little sleep the night before. I researched the zyrtec for side effects and aggression kept coming up over and over again. She only had one dose, but could that have been what caused her to bite someone? Coincidence? I don't know. We have not given her zyrtec again just in case.

Project 1 Almost Complete

There is something to say about buying a house and being able to paint PRIOR to moving in. Unfortunately, we did not get that option. We got a quote from one painter to paint the rooms and were blown away. It was just a crazy ridiculous quote. So I'm working on more right now.  In the meantime I decided to paint the smallest room in the house. The laundry room. It took 3 weeks because I fell ill in the middle of the process. But I finally got it done.  Yay! I say it's almost done because I want to take the wire shelving down above the washer/dryer and put up cabinets with a shelf and rod.

After: with a curtain to hide the ugly electrical box.

Beautiful Evenings

The weather was absolutely gorgeous this evening. We played on the porch and had dinner out there. Love Florida!

Daycare's First Gift

As I blogged last week Elsa started her first week of daycare. She was only there three days but still managed to get sick.

She is a trooper. Even she sick she can give me a smile.

That gift was promptly shared with me. I have been feeling so miserable. It makes me wonder how awful she must have felt and she can't really tell us verbally. And we really don't have much that we can give her to ease the symptoms except Tylenol. It makes a momma feel a bit helpless. She is on the mend and hopefully this won't be as common as I have been warned.

Elsa's last day at the sitter's

Thursday was Elsa's last day with Ms. Diane. She has been with Diane since she was 3 months old. It has been a warm loving environment where she has learned a lot. We couldn't have been happier with anyone else. I may have cried when we left.
